Michter’s out of Kentucky is known for having some well regarded, sourced bourbon and rye whiskies. This includes bottlings which come in at barrel strength, such as the just released Michter’s 2016 US*1 Barrel Strength Rye that is limited edition and pricing around $75.

The US*1 Barrel Strength Rye, much like last year’s release, went into the barrel at 103 proof. After aging, said distillery officials, barrel proof for the majority of barrels of this second release bottled so far has fallen between 110.2 proof and 114.8 proof. This is up from the 2015 version…
